I just got back from my church Youth Camp. As Jiaen had brought to my conciousness, the camp high is not there already. Not that I care already abt the "Camp Highness" which accompanies each christian camp, though, primarily cos to my knowledge, God is with me whereever I go and that I do not have to go to a camp to draw close to Him and enjoy a close relationship with Him.
Maybe also, I'm already in my twenties and the word 'Youth' is taking a whole new different meaning to me as compared to back when I was a teenager. Not that I am admiting to the fact that I am still not youthful. In fact, I believe that while I can be taken out of the group called 'Youth', but I don't think 'youth' can be taken out of me. The Caleb which brings the following picture should still be around for some good years still.
haha, enjoy. Yeah its me in the picture. haha.
At the camp, the sermons did not speak much to me. Not that i mind, though i still paid every ounce of attention. Haha. Well, the main objective was for me to join as a camper, to forge friendships in YPM, which I have been lacking of late, esp since YPM had seen batches of people gone off and integrated into the 'Working Adult' Cateogary in Church. So, its back to making friends once again. And of course, some friendships were strengthened. Its been a great time.
One thing i thank God for in this camp is for my group, Jacinth's the name. For records sake, it consists of Jiaen the Leader, Jerome the Assistant, Jachin the mascot, Jovian, Yong Seng, Joel, Vanessa, Gillian, Michelle, Eunice, Sabrina, and of course mentors Yiling and Serene. Thank God that even though my group was not competitive, it was very fun and nice just to hang around and talk.
Towards the end of the camp, Ee ling was telling me how normally during camps, christian camps and non-christian camps alike, people would risk all their friendships and reputations (which was build up pain stakenly over the years), just to win games(not refering to anyone in particular though). She was saying that if only they realised that the price for winning would only be some packet of chips and other tidbits. Oh well, maybe thats how friendships and reputation cost to some, lol. It hilarious just pondering on it.
Joel was a good room mate to have, and thank God for my bro's wisdom to being a kettle along. Too bad he was sick during camp, but that means while he rests, I can kope all his Cup Noodles, since its bad for his health. haha. Regardless of all these, I'm glad my bro recovered already and is currently on a mission trip in Cambodia, which of course leaves lonely me in Singapore in my oversized room now that I am my only roomate.
Oh yeah, Pastor Glen preached about my Namesake( Yes! at last someone talked so deep about 'Caleb', LOL). Yea i knew the moment he said he wanna preach about 'Caleb', that he was going to go depth into the root meaning of my name. So yeah, below are the pictures which illustrates the root meaning of my name.
Yeah, 'Caleb' primarily derieved from the cute cuddly creature above. (And below). Generally, 'Caleb' embodifies the following aspects of a dog;
HANDSOME and CUTE Loyal, Courageous, Bold, Faithful and Devoted one.
Oh yeah, and this is my favourite breed of dog. Its breed is called a 'Rough Collie'. Generally a sheepdog, it is very kind and gentle by nature, and also very obedient to its masters. Good temperaments is also one of its strong points, and it will also serve as a good playmate with children.
I think I am very blesses to be able to see Chao Yuan and Jem during the last 2 days, when Chao's church was having youth camp just near the vicinity where my church had youth camp :)
Oh, and not forgetting my wonderful mortal, who though I was a gal becos I wrote notes using handwritings of a gal(Thanks Yvonne Eng, your artistically unreadable handwriting inspired this. LOL), and also cos I impersonated a young gal in the content of the letter, thanks to Joshua Chao who inspired me. haha.
And my Angel, Lydia, who was speechless most times, and only blessing me by signing off as Angel. haha.
Had fun indeed. And who can forget the jog i went with Taiyong, Jeshua and Jabez. Its been months since i did that kinda thing. Gosh, and its only less than 2 more months till my term's over. I wanna ORD!!! haha
